The Arvore da Vida Rural Trading Point Model promises to be a benchmark model with regard to rural economic and business development, together with social upliftment. The project aims to provide a sustainable economic solution for rural agricultural communities while at the same time providing a platform for private business to enter rural undeveloped areas. The first construction target is to have 40 Trading Points completed by June 2008. This should translate to 60 tons of copra collected per day. By this stage the model will directly employ 180 people and approximately 200,000 people indirectly. 100 Trading Points should be completed by February 2009. This should result in 150 tons of copra collected per day. Direct employment should be 180 people and approximately 500,000 people indirectly.
